Introductie
For an important project within the public domain, we are looking for a skilled and independent Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer to help the organisation strengthen its access security controls and implement a Zero Trust approach to identity governance.

The client is a respected public institution operating in a complex and security-critical environment. With increasing digital dependency and a strong commitment to information security, they are seeking an IAM expert who can take ownership of identity lifecycle management, enforce access governance, and improve resilience against unauthorized access and insider threats.
Functie
As the IAM Engineer, you will lead the technical implementation of access security policies and controls. You will be responsible for designing and optimizing identity workflows, configuring and maintaining IAM platforms, and supporting access reviews and privilege audits. You will work closely with security architects and infrastructure teams to ensure the organisation’s identity fabric is secure, scalable, and aligned with best practices.
Functie-eisen
- At least 4–6 years of demonstrable experience in IAM, cybersecurity, or access control engineering;
- Deep understanding of authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, OpenID), MFA, RBAC/ABAC;
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Azure AD (Entra ID) , Okta , or Ping Identity ;
- Experience implementing or supporting Zero Trust or Privileged Access Management (PAM) frameworks;
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation;
- Comfortable advising internal stakeholders and working autonomously on high-impact projects;
- Fluency in Dutch is preferred.
